(Promotion of environmentally friendly business activities)
We promote the environmental protection plan steadily. |
We carried out the environmental protection action as follows.
- Reduced CO2 emissions by 31% from the 2008 level.
Energy consumption was less than 1,500kl (crude oil equivalent). Our designation as a Type 2 Designated Energy Management Factory was removed.
- Reduced waste emissions by 20% from the 2008 level.
In 2009, our plant was certified by Yokohama City for the second consecutive year as an establishment with good waste separation practices (three-star establishment) in the large-scale establishment category.
- Reduced water consumption by 42% from the 2008 level.

(Environmental social contribution activities)
We promote environmental social contribution activities to help improve the environment of our local community and wider society. |
We carried out contribution to society activity as follows.
- Holding more environmental classes for elementary school students.
We provided environmental lessons for about 50 fifth-graders from local elementary school.
- Conducting volunteer cleanup activities around the plant.
Volunteer cleanup events were held five times during fiscal 2009; a total of 350 employees participated in cleanup activities around the plant.
- Reinforcing environmental education initiatives
- Advancing ECO Cap activities
We collected and delivered approximately 17,000 bottle caps to the NPO Ecocap Movement.
