Ceramic Capacitors FAQQIs a pretreatment required when using a multilayer ceramic capacitor?

A
Pretreatment is not necessary when using multilayer ceramic capacitors.
Capacitors (B/X5R and R/X7R characteristics) classified as high dielectric types among the multilayer ceramic capacitors, have characteristics where the capacitance deteriorates with the progression of time (change over time).

When the capacitance is measured while the capacitor is left at room temperature for a long time, there are cases where values lower than the nominal capacity are indicated, and the capacitance that deteriorated with the change over time will recover by heat treatment, such as soldering, etc.

Therefore, in the test performance of multilayer ceramic capacitors, there are items where heat treatment is specified when measuring the capacitance before or after testing.
