Murata has extensive production and sales activities in the ASEAN region. Murata Singapore, established in 1972, was one of the first factories set up by Murata outside of Japan to meet the demands of the electronic components in South East Asia. Today over 10,000 "Innovators in Electronics" are employed by Murata in the ASEAN region and India, working on one of the four factories located in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Philippines, or servicing customers in the sales affiliates in Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, India and Vietnam. In addition to Murata's own sales force, the company's high quality components and solutions are available through extensive network of regional and local distributors.
