Overview
Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has released English and Chinese versions of the manga Wonder Stone – The Akira Murata Story, translated from the original Japanese manga Fushigi na Ishikoro – Murata Akira Monogatari published in September 2009. Digital versions of the books will also be available on the English and Chinese-language Murata websites.
Background
In September of 2009, Murata Manufacturing published Wonder Stone – The Akira Murata Story in the hopes that this booklet, which introduces the life and ambitions of Murata Manufacturing founder Akira Murata in an easy-to-understand manga form, would help stimulate the interest of children in science and monozukuri. This booklet has been distributed to neighboring schools and passed out to children at the “delivery lectures” on science conducted by Murata staff at elementary and junior high schools throughout Japan with the aim of fostering an understanding of what our company is all about.
To help the Murata Group become more widely understood not only in Japan but overseas as well, we have released English and Chinese language versions of this booklet, which will be distributed to our overseas affiliates in addition to being made available in digital form on our company website.
As with the Japanese language version of this booklet, the foreign language versions will also be used as an educational tool for new employees at the overseas sites of the Murata Group.
