Ultrasonic SensorsDrip-proof Ultrasonic Sensors

Our drip-proof ultrasonic sensors are constructed by pasting piezoelectric ceramics to a metal case and then filling the opening of that case with resin. This structure protects against water droplets and dust, which become a problem when used outdoors. We have enabled stable short-distance and long-distance detection performance with our MA48CF15-7N sensors by tightening the tolerance of the sensor characteristics compared to conventional products. These products are suitable for applications such as automatic braking systems and automatic parking systems in automobiles due to their high reliability together with their stable distance detection performance.

Proof Type

Strengths

Contributes to the stabilization of distance detection performance

Tight tolerance of the resonant frequency:

The production process technology we have cultivated over many years reduces the resonance frequency to 50% of conventional products. That contributes to the stabilization of the distance detection performance.

Contributes to an improvement in the short-distance detection performance

Tighter tolerance of the capacitance:

Murata’s strength, which is our ceramic production process technology, reduces the capacitance tolerance to 50% of conventional products. This contributes to an improvement in the short-distance detection performance.

Supports coding ICs and improves the temperature characteristics

Standardization of lower Q and Q tolerance:

We have standardized lower Q and Q tolerance to realize compatibility with coding ICs.
In addition, the lower Q also contributes to an improvement in the temperature characteristics.
