Amid the growing expectations pinned on ways and means of saving energy and reducing power consumption levels, Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. plans to participate at the Smart Energy Japan 2012 Exhibition where it will offer solutions in the form of electronic components and technologies designed to use energy smartly.
Murata will introduce its energy-generating devices that are capable of converting light, heat and other forms of energy around us into electricity.
Murata will present pyroelectric infrared sensors, which can detect human movement, as well as various other kinds of sensors.
Murata will showcase its small and low-power-consumption EnOcean®*1 and ZigBee®*2 modules, which can be operated by exploiting sources of power generated from the environment.
Murata also plans to stage demonstrations of systems and applications that combine the products described above.
Demonstration focusing on a method of transmitting sensing information using the power generated by energy-harvesting devices. This method eliminates the need to replace batteries or connect wires.
Demonstration showing how to control LED lighting systems by a wireless network using modules that combine the ZigBee® with pyroelectric infrared sensors. These modules save a great deal of energy in offices and other such environments.
Demonstration indicating how temperature, humidity and lighting levels in an office or home can be detected, how this information can be transmitted by means of a wireless sensor network using the EnOcean® technology, and how an office or home can be monitored over the Internet. Systems that have these capabilities contribute to improving the environment and saving energy.
