Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has commercialized easy
to install ultra thin type and light ferrite core, "Thin Type Sandwich
Core."
Our previous thin type ferrite core was 2.0mm thick
for the ultra thin type. We have realized 1.0mm thickness (of 2 pieces
excluding the gap), based on our material technology. Since two pieces
of ultra thin type ferrite cores sandwich a flat cable, the ferrite
cores are in direct contact with the cable. Consequently, in spite of
its thinness, noise removal characteristics are comparable to our
previous model at frequencies from tens to hundreds of MHz where
microwave absorbers fail to remove noise is realized.
Since ferrite core is covered with adhesive,
insulation tape, it adheres and fixes the cable in a correct position
easily at installation. Also, in the case where the ferrite core is
broken, the tape will prevent its fragments from flying away eliminates
rapid characteristic deterioration. Because of these features, it
became possible to be used with small mobile equipment such as cellular
phones, previously problematic due to the space limitation and ferrite
core breakage.
This product will start its sales on October 2005.
Monthly production of approximately 500,000 units is scheduled in
December 2005.
We are exhibiting "Thin Sandwich Core" at Murata booth
in CEATEC JAPAN 2005, Makuhari Messe Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture from
October 4.
