Ceramic Capacitors FAQQWhy can’t flow soldering be utilized with chip multilayer ceramic capacitors other than 1608M(0603), 2012M(0805), 3216M(1206) in mm(inch) sizes?

A
With the 3225M(1210 inch) or larger sizes, the temperature difference between the inside and the chip surface increases, and this difference (Thermal shock) might cause cracks to occur. As a result, they are excluded from flow soldering.
The 1005M(0402 inch) or below, smaller size chips might fall off or bridges might be formed when they are processed by flow soldering. So, these sizes too are also excluded from flow soldering.
