FTTH Media Converter consists of a power supply block, a photoelectric conversion block and Ethernet interface. Photodiodes and laser diodes in the photoelectric conversion block are susceptible to power supply noise, so this type of noise is suppressed by installing Chip Ferrite Beads on power supply lines of amplifiers and laser drivers.
Chip Ferrite Beads are also installed to reduce jitter on bias lines of laser diodes.
Meanwhile, Ethernet Interface ICs operate at high-speed, therefore high frequency noise may conduct to IC power supply lines. This type of noise is also suppressed by installing Chip Ferrite Beads.
