Application Guide of Magnetic Pattern Recognition Sensors
Gap Characteristic
Murata magnetic pattern recognition sensors provide an excellent gap characteristic. Taking advantage of this characteristic, these sensors allow non-contact transport, enabling the transport mechanism to be more freely designed.

(Target media: banknote)
- The following medium transport systems are generally used.
- When a medium with 0.1-mm thickness, whose front and back have patterns printed with magnetic ink, is transported with 0.2-mm gap between the sensor and roller, the output for the front pattern is approx. 70%, while the output for the back pattern is approx. 50%, relative to the output obtained by contact transport.
