Opening of Murata Innovation Museum, a Training & Education Facility for Employees

On Tuesday, October 1, 2019, Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (“Murata”), held an opening ceremony for the Murata Innovation Museum, an educational and training facility for employees, established inside the Nagaoka Office (Nagaokakyo City, Kyoto Prefecture).

Marking the 75th anniversary of Murata’s founding, the Murata Innovation Museum is a place for Murata employees to learn about Murata’s history, corporate philosophy, and values that we have carefully preserved since its founding in order to facilitate employees’ transition into their roles and the Murata culture of continuous innovation.

The facility is a net-zero energy building (Net-ZEB)*1 with innovations like an off-grid power system implementing solar panels, as well as lighting and air conditioning that incorporate energy-saving technology, all aimed at reducing the building’s environmental footprint and utilizing energy more efficiently. Much of the equipment, including the CO2 sensors and storage battery system, incorporate Murata technologies and products.

*1 A building that is designed to conserve energy through superinsulation, shading from solar radiation, the use of natural energy, and high-efficiency equipment, and drastically reduce the amount of energy consumed by generating energy from solar power, etc. while also maintaining a comfortable indoor environment.
