Toward a Forest That Brings People and Other Living Things Together

One of the CSR activities we are undertaking at Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd., is our “Murata Forest” initiative. We have borrowed a parcel of land at Mt. Mizukami in the Ozowara district of Echizen Town, Fukui Prefecture — the birthplace of Fukui Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. There, we have been engaged in various forestry conservation activities such as planting trees and clearing underbrush. We have also been engaged in tasks to preserve the ecosystem, including work to protect killifish, lightning bugs, and wild grasses and flowers as well as the removal of nonnative species.

On Activity Day, employees, their families, and members of the local activity join together in activities to protect, familiarize themselves with, and understand nature by, for example, participating in crawfish-catching festivals and other events that include nature observation tours and working to remove nonnative species.

Our goal is to produce a forest that brings people and other living things together, and toward that end we will continue our efforts to enjoy, protect, and further develop the natural environment of the region.
