High Temperature Film Capacitor

Murata's high temperature resistance film capacitors (FH series) can be continuously used at a temperature of 125°C.
In addition, they possess a self healing feature in a high‐temperature range which is optimally suited to industrial equipment requiring a high temperature guarantee, converters in environmentally-friendly vehicles, and inverter smoothing applications for motor drives.

About the FH Series

Film capacitors are capacitors that use plastic film as the dielectric. They have features such as good frequency and temperature characteristics, no DC bias, and high insulation resistance.

Currently, PP film capacitors commonly used for automotive/industrial applications are generally guaranteed up to 105°C. The capacitors we now introduce here are high-heat-resistant film capacitors (FH series) that can be used continuously at 125°C. We have commercialized these capacitors with Shizuki Electric Co., Inc. using a high-heat-resistant film material developed by Murata Manufacturing.

In addition, the high-heat-resistant film used in the FH series has a high dielectric constant. Therefore, another one of its features is that it is possible to reduce the size compared to conventional PP film capacitors.
