This year's theme for the Murata Booth is "Leading a Smart Life through Advanced Electronics" (Using product displays and demonstrations, we will show how cutting-edge electronic components play an active role in a future smart life.)
The product exhibition zone is divided into three sections – Mobile Communications, IOT (Internet of Things), and Automotive Electronics. In each section, we will use displays and demonstrations to show how each cutting-edge component contributes to the implementation of a smart life.
In addition, we will hold performances of the bicycle-riding robot MURATA BOY and the unicycle-riding robot MURATA GIRL on the event stage.
We will also give two speeches at PCF 2011 (the 2011 International Passive Components Technology & Market Development Forum), being held concurrently.
Mobile Communication Zone Summary
In the Mobile Communication Zone, we will introduce products that contribute to the miniaturization and increased functionality of cutting-edge mobile devices such as smart phones and tablet PCs.
We will exhibit a variety of new model sensory input devices, including the Capacitive-coupling Wireless Power Transmission System, which provides power to mobile devices wirelessly; the Leaf Grip Remote Controller, which enables control by bending and flexing; a touch pressure pad, which has a pressure measurement feature; and an optical interface, which allows operation without even touching the screen. In addition, we will introduce a variety of cutting-edge components used in all types of smart phones and tablet PCs, including such components as electric double-layer capacitors used as electric support for LED flashes and other products.

IOT (Internet of Things) Zone Summary
In the IOT Zone, visitors will be able to experience the IOT world using sensors and wireless communication technology produced by our company. For example, we will be demonstrating sensors, such as our Infrared Sensors and Ultrasonic Sensors; the ZigBee® module, which transmits detected information; the HD-PLC module, which sends data over electric power lines; and Gateway for smart homes.

Automotive Electronics Zone Summary
We will introduce components that are used in each type of EV/HEV, such as high-capacity ceramic capacitors for automotive use, and components that improve the reliability of automobiles.

MURATA BOY Performance
On the main stage we will offer demonstrations of the bicycle-riding robot MURATA BOY and the unicycle-riding robot MURATA GIRL, as well as other demonstrations introducing our cutting-edge products.
PCF 2011 Speech Outline
At PCF 2011 (the 2011 International Passive Components Technology & Market Development Forum), we will present speeches on two themes. The first theme is "Advanced Electronic Component Solutions for Smart Homes," during which we will introduce our company's sensors and communication technology that contribute to creating smart homes. The second theme is "Murata EMC Solutions for Improving Mobile Phone Reception Sensitivity," wherein we will discuss methods for improving mobile phone reception sensitivity through EMI counter-measure technology.
