Overview

Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. will be exhibiting its products and technologies at CAR-ELE Japan – 9th International Automotive Electronics Technology Expo.

Details

CAR-ELE Japan – 9th International Automotive Electronics Technology Expo (part of Automotive World 2017)

Period: Wednesday, January 18 to Friday, January 20
Location: Tokyo Big Sight
URL: http://www.car-ele.jp/en/Home/
Booth No.: East 4 hall E30-35

At this exhibition, all the latest technologies and products underpinning the ongoing advances achieved in automotive electronics will be showcased together under one roof. A total of 900 companies—a figure that represents the largest number ever to participate—will be exhibiting their creations. In addition to automobile-related manufacturers, exhibitors will include enterprises from other industries, such as industrial equipment and electronic component manufacturers and system integrators.

The theme of the Murata booth will be "Creating a more secure and comfortable car society." With the automotive market a key target under Murata's business strategy, we will introduce about 40 items including highly reliable, efficient, and functional electronic components and solutions contributing to automotive applications. Among other topics, our exhibits will showcase our (1) ADAS/Connected Car, (2) Power Train, (3) Human Machine Interface, and (4) Environmental technologies. We will also exhibit some solutions jointly developed with Magellan Systems Japan, Inc. ("Magellan"), a world well-known leader in the research and development of high-precision satellite positioning systems. Murata has worked closely with Magellan to develop products that will support autonomous vehicle operation in the future.

Main exhibits

ADAS/Connected Car

Satellite positioning systems require ever greater precision. We will exhibit solutions furthering the communication functions of these systems and future autonomous vehicle operation.

- SCC2000 Gyro Sensor Series

Our gyro sensors have been chosen for high accuracy GNSS inertial navigation system (GNSS INS) that are combined with GNSS system and IMU by Magellan. This system provides position, speed, attitude information and timing those are required for automatic operation of industrial machines and agricultural Tractors, etc., stably and in high-precision. Some examples of actual usage of such sensors are being displayed, which shows an autonomous operation in the farm field of the Tractor, equipped with  Magellan's GNSS INS .

- SCA3300 Acceleration Sensor Series

The exhibit will include a demo and video of attitude control with a high-performance acceleration sensor currently under development. The technology offers industry-leading specs as a slope-measuring MEMS sensor. It is intended for industrial applications, such as controlling automobile transmissions and tilt-detection of production, construction, and farm equipment.

Power Train

We will introduce a variety of power supply modules helping to make drive devices more compact and efficient.

- Lithium-ion battery for engine starting

The booth will introduce thin, compact lithium-ion batteries with laminating technology first developed for ceramic capacitors. Thanks to Murata's unique electrode structure, these products offer industry-leading output in a small and thin form.

Human Machine Interface

Murata will introduce solutions tailored to on-dashboard screen operation, a breakthrough that has been attracting a great deal of attention in recent years.

Passive components for vehicles

On display will be Murata’s automotive monolithic ceramic capacitors and inductors, timing devices and other highly reliable, efficient, and functional passive components, as well as components made by Peregrine Semiconductor Corporation of the United States, recently acquired by Murata in 2014.

Concurrent events

A mini-stage within the Murata booth will give 10-minute presentations (about five times a day) of our business and products each day of the event. Products and technologies to be introduced are as below.
*Details are subject to change without notice.

- Gyro sensors
- Lithium-ion batteries
- Monolithic ceramic capacitors for automotive use
- Surface-mounting piezoelectric sounder
- Femtet® analysis simulation software
Others being prepared
