When taking measures against noise that occurs from motors for cars, it is important to arrange noise suppression products in a space as close as possible to the noise source (motor).

It is also necessary for a capacitor to endure high temperatures depending on the installation location of the motor.
As a technique to achieve noise suppression, we recommend that leaded products be mounted by welding without using a printed circuit board.

In an example of actual use, as shown in the figure on the right, ceramic capacitors guaranteed for high temperatures (125°C, 150°C), which comply with AEC-Q200 or ISO7637-2 (Surge Test), are mounted by welding while the lead wires are bent.

Murata's "RCE Series" and "RH Series" have ideal features for such usage.

Varistor-equipped capacitors that simultaneously suppress noise and protect the circuit.

In order to utilize varistor-equipped capacitors to simultaneously suppress noise and protect the circuit from surges, we recommend the VFC series, which incorporates the functionality of a capacitor and varistor into a single component. These products can be used at temperatures up to 125°C, making them suitable for automotive applications. Follow the link above or the links at the bottom of this page for details on the series.

We also offer copper wire if it is difficult to use CP wire (copper plated steel wire) depending on the welding conditions

In the standard catalog specifications, CP wire (copper plated steel wire) is indicated as the material of the lead wire; however, it can be changed to copper wire as required.
