Trimmer Capacitors FAQ

We incorrectly mounted the positive (hot) and negative (ground) terminals. Will there be any problem?

The trimmer capacitor is non-polarized. However, in some circuits, it is difficult to adjust the capacitance value due to stray capacitance such as that generated by a metallic screwdriver. The dimensions diagram shows the positive (hot) and negative (ground) terminals so that the negative (ground) terminal can be grounded to suppress any effects of stray capacitance in these circuits. When using an insulated screwdriver to adjust the capacitance value, you do not need to check the ground terminal. Even if the positive (hot) and negative (ground) terminals are incorrectly mounted, there are no effects.
