Inductors FAQQI would like to know about the DC superimposing characteristics. How does the DC superimposing characteristics affect the characteristics of the power supply?

A
When DC is applied, the inductance value generally decreases due to the magnetic saturation of the ferrite.  This characteristic is called the DC superimposing characteristic.  When this DC superimposing characteristic deteriorates, the ripple voltage which is a characteristic of the power supply may increase.
