Murata introduces high-frequency chip inductors with high Q characteristics

Overview

Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has begun mass production  of the new LQP03TQ_02 series of compact 0201 standard size (0.6 x 0.3 x 0.3 mm) high-frequency chip inductors, which have some of the highest Q characteristics in the industry.

Background

With the increasingly more sophisticated functions being incorporated into mobile phones, demand continues to grow for inductors that are compact in size and have high Q characteristics. In terms of the company’s inductors in the 0201 standard size, the RF inductors in the LQP03TN_02 series have higher Q characteristics than the components offered on the market.

As such, they are already being widely used, particularly in mobile phones, however, demand also exists for even higher levels of performance. To meet customer expectations, Murata is making available the LQP03TQ_02 series of high-frequency chip inductors with Q characteristics superior to those of its existing LQP03TN_02 series.

The new series is expected at some point to support even tighter tolerances (±0.05 nH) than before.

Applications

High-frequency modules for mobile phones (PA, ANT, SAW, GPS, etc.)
Smartphones, mobile phones (WCDMA, GSM, LTE, etc.)
W-LAN, Bluetooth® and other wireless modules
All types of high-frequency circuits
