There are several levels of self-driving functionality, but all require highly accurate sensing and algorithms for processing the data obtained in an integrated manner. As part of its work to develop products for advanced driver assist systems and self-driving systems, Murata is test driving a test vehicle equipped with an inertial measurement unit (IMU) module developed in-house and using the data to evaluate and verify safety in a variety of anticipated use cases. With products that make possible low-cost and precise measurement, Murata is helping boost the accuracy of the measurement data relied on by autonomous vehicles.
