About security applications

Murata's pyroelectric infrared sensors are unique for their high signal-to-noise performance.
In the security field, it is important that sensors do not malfunction or detect a false positive due to external noise.
Due to the high reliability of our products, they have been adopted for use in the security systems of security companies and other high-level crime prevention systems.
The popularization of home security is leading to an increase in the use of security in ordinary homes as well, and the products are expected to be actively used going forward.

Application example (1) IoT smart home security

By installing a security device with a built-in pyroelectric infrared sensor indoors and turning the system on when going out, it detects the movement of a person (heat) indoors and sends a report to the security company and a notification to the individual's mobile telephone.
When equipped with the built-in IP camera, it starts the camera and begins recording upon detecting a person (heat).
The camera can detect across a wide range by using a wide directional lens.
Recently, security and appliance wakeup features are being combined in some cases by mounting these sensors on thermostats for smart homes which control home systems and household appliances.
