TCXO (Temperature compensated crystal oscillator) is a type of crystal oscillator. TCXOs provide a stable clock signal with a temperature compensated circuit and a Crystal unit with good performance over a wide temperature range.
The precision TCXO is a TCXO that achieves equivalent frequency accuracy compared to OCXOs for network infrastructures.

Application

Base station (Small Cell/eNodeB/gnodeB), Switches / Routers (IEEE1588/PTP/SyncE),
Wireless devices / Radio equipment etc.

To achieve high-precision synchronization with 4G and 5G, we are developing products with a frequency stability of Stratum 3 grade or higher.
In addition to the optional Vc function, the output waveform can be selected from either clipped sine or CMOS.

Murata Icon X Advantages of Murata‘s Precision TCXO


More precise timing devices are required for 5G, however, there are issues with high cost, size and power consumption, etc. in OCXO. Therefore, Murata will continue to improve the accuracy of the TCXO in order to create an environment where the OCXO is no longer required.
Murata’s precision TCXO has temperature characteristics equivalent to an OCXO with an accuracy of +/-200 ppb over a temperature range of -40 ºC to 85 ºC. The product ensures the accuracy of the holdover and free-run required by G.8262 in the EEC (Ethernet Equipment Clock).

In order to withstand harsher environments, we are now developing products with a wider temperature range. In addition to small cells, the product is suitable for high-precision synchronous systems using IEEE1588/PTP or synchronous Ethernet.
