AMR Sensors FAQ

What is mT?

Millitesla is a unit of magnetic flux density. It has now replaced the previously familiar term of gauss (1mT=10 gauss).
・ On the magnet side, the mT figure corresponds to the magnitude of magnetic force. A greater number indicates that the magnet is larger or that the point of measurement is closer to the magnet.
・ On the sensor side, it represents the sensor’s switching sensitivity. The greater the number, the less easily the sensor is switched on and the more easily it is switched off.
