The sensor itself can be used at any depth. The constraint would be the cable length. The included cable is 3 m long. We recommend installing the product at whatever depth is best for the issue you want to solve. Compared with sensors inserted from the ground surface, Murata's soil sensors can be buried deeper in soil.
