Principle of Piezoelectric Actuator

Principle of Piezo Actuator

Ceramics will have displacement when DC voltage is supplied.
The Strain (S) of ceramics is calculated with Piezo material constant (d) and applied electric field (E).
S=d×E

The displacement (X) of Piezo actuator is given by Legth (L) and Strain (S) as below.
X=S×L
