Ceramic Capacitors FAQQWhat are the differences between the GCM, GRT, and GRM series?

A

About specifications (test conditions)

The table below lists differences in the representative test conditions for each series.
The GCM series and GRT series are chip multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) conforming to AEC-Q200.
These series support higher-reliability specifications (test conditions) than the GRM series, which is not AEC-Q200-conformant.

Applications

Recommended applications for each series are listed in the table below.
For chip multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) for use in applications such as automotive equipment, especially applications involving possible risk to human life (driving, steering, braking, safety equipment, etc.), the highly reliable GCM series is recommended.
For infotainment/comfort equipment such as car navigation systems, and for industrial equipment, Murata offers the AEC-Q200-conformant GRT series.
In cases where multiple series are recommended for some applications, customers are encouraged to select the series that best meets their specific requirements, taking into account factors such as the differences in the specifications (test conditions) listed in the table above.
