AMR Sensors FAQ

Elements and IC's

AMR sensor has two output types, one is analog output and the other one is digital output.

Elements correspond to analog outputs
They detect how the magnet approaches the sensor or identify the rotatiing position of the magnet and output the results in analog values. The analog output type can provide a high resolution results depending on the performance of the signal processor.

ICs are the circuits that perform digital processing on the same substrates that are together with the elements.

Depending on the strength of the magnetic flux detected, the output signal changes once the potential difference exceeds the pre-determined threshold. As the result of the signal output is either Hi or Lo, in binary, the signal processing. is relatively simple.
