Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has expanded its lineup of the GJM Series low loss chip multilayer ceramic capacitors with the introduction of a 0201 inch size product that has a rated voltage of 100Vdc. This product is primarily intended for use in communication base stations and in power amplifier modules for communication base stations. Mass production of this product started in April 2018.
GJM Series low loss chip multilayer ceramic capacitors realize high Q and low ESR at high frequencies. This is achieved by adopting a ceramic material with extremely low loss at high frequencies as the dielectric material and by the use of copper internal electrodes. Communication base stations are trending towards higher frequencies and higher output, and further set miniaturization is necessary. This calls for an expansion of rated voltages in compact low loss capacitors, to enable their use in communication base stations. Murata’s 0201 inch size low loss chip multilayer ceramic capacitors previously had a maximum rated voltage of 50Vdc. We now have added to the GJM033 series, a product with twice the rated voltage (100Vdc) of the current lineup. The company expects to expand sales of products for communication base stations.
