1. Basic Policy
When managing and using our Official Accounts, Murata officers and employees will comply with applicable laws and regulations as well as Murata’s internal “Corporate Ethics Policy and Code of Conduct,” and will conduct themselves responsibly, ethically, and respectfully towards others.
2. Basic Approach to Managing Accounts
We recognise that information posted through our Official Accounts is widely accessible and may influence how Murata is perceived.
We aim to communicate openly and responsibly, while respecting the views and perspectives of others.
The way individual Official Accounts are operated, including the frequency of updates, response times and available means of communication, may vary depending on the account and social media platform.
3. Guidance and Requests for Social Media Users
We operate our Official Accounts to share information about Murata and to communicate with users. To help maintain a respectful, safe and constructive environment, we ask users to cooperate regarding the following points.
3-1. Prohibited Conduct
If Murata reasonably determines that content or conduct falls within any of the categories below, we may take appropriate measures permitted by the relevant social media platform, including hiding or deleting content, restricting interactions, reporting content or accounts, or blocking accounts. 3-2. Handling of Posts and Comments
We may reply to, react to, quote, share or otherwise interact with posts, comments or messages where appropriate. However, we cannot respond to every post, comment, mention or message.
A reply, reaction, follow, share or other interaction by an Official Account does not necessarily constitute Murata’s endorsement of a user, organisation, opinion, product, service or other content.
Users should not post confidential information, contact details or other sensitive personal information publicly when communicating with Murata through social media.
For enquiries requiring formal assistance, we may ask users to contact Murata through the appropriate enquiry or support channel on our website.
3-3. Handling of Content Posted by Users
Where users publicly interact with or mention Murata, Murata may use the functionality provided by the relevant social media platform to reply to, quote, share, repost or otherwise interact with that content in accordance with the platform’s terms and applicable law.
Where Murata wishes to use user-generated content outside the normal functionality or context of the relevant social media platform, including for advertising, promotional materials or other corporate communications, Murata will obtain any permissions required under applicable law.
4. Disclaimer
Information posted through our Official Accounts is provided primarily for general information and communication purposes. While we take reasonable care when publishing information, social media content may not always represent Murata’s most current, complete or official information and may be corrected or updated.
Official corporate announcements and statements should be confirmed through Murata’s corporate website, official press releases or other designated communication channels.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Murata will not be liable for loss or damage arising from the use of or inability to use our Official Accounts, except where such liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Murata is not responsible for content posted by users or other third parties, or for disputes arising solely between users or between users and third parties.
Our Official Accounts are operated through third-party social media platforms. Murata does not control and is not responsible for the availability, functionality, security, terms, policies or independent data-processing practices of those platforms.
Murata may modify, suspend or discontinue an Official Account or content published through it where necessary, including as a result of changes to our business activities or to the services provided by the relevant social media platform.
5. Personal Information
We will handle the personal information we acquire appropriately in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
6. Intellectual Property Rights
The logos, trademarks, service marks, and other assets that we use on our Official Accounts, as well as the text, images, videos, and other content posted on our Official Accounts, are protected by the Copyright Act and other laws and regulations related to intellectual property rights. Intellectual property rights to the content posted on our Official Accounts belong to us or to third parties who hold legitimate rights thereto.
Except where permitted by applicable law, the relevant platform’s terms or the applicable rights holder, users may not reproduce, modify, distribute, commercially exploit or otherwise use Murata content in a manner that infringes the intellectual property or other legal rights of Murata or any third party.
Nothing in this Policy grants any licence or right to use Murata’s trademarks, logos or other brand elements except as expressly authorised by Murata or permitted by applicable law.
7. External Links
Our Official Accounts may contain links to external websites or third-party content.
Murata does not control such external websites and is not responsible for their availability, content, security or privacy practices.
The inclusion of a link, or Murata’s following, sharing or interaction with a third-party account or content, does not in itself constitute Murata’s endorsement of, or affiliation or partnership with, that third party or its products, services, opinions or content.
