In addition to demonstrating the level of advancement that has allowed us to develop the world’s first practical lithium-ion battery to respond to the needs of the IoT era, this area will introduce battery solutions that only Murata can provide, combining process technologies cultivated in our manufacture of products including multilayer ceramic capacitors and our material technologies resulting from our development of the most advanced electronic components.

Wireless communications technologies are essential to the IoT society. The research and development power and technological capacity of Murata have enabled us to constantly respond to the demands of the times. Our vast expertise has been formed over many years in the global wireless communications market, for example through the supply of wireless communications modules that comply with major communications standards such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth®. This area will introduce solutions only available from Murata, in our preparation to support the changes that will occur with the commencement of 5G services.

Sensing technologies that enable detection – the first step in the realization of the IoT society. In this area, we introduce Murata sensors, able to provide a rich array of variations using materials including ceramics, MEMS, and magnetic materials, enabling these richly varied sensors to be utilized in numerous applications, all created on a foundation of diverse element technologies.

Wireless communications technologies are the key to success in indoor positioning. Respond to the demands of the times, Murata has supplied the market with wireless communications modules that comply with major communications standards such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth®, in addition to a wide variety of high-frequency products. In this area, we introduce solutions to problems created by leveraging the results and the knowledge that we have cultivated in the fields of smartphones and wireless communications devices.

Sensing solutions able to evaluate human emotions, level of stress, and relationships to one another. In this area, we introduce solutions that can visualize and distinguish previously invisible information, e.g. human feelings and stress level;and information on people’s relationships with one another and levels of interest, e.g. levels of affection or sympathy or level of attention paid to something, which cannot be judged visually.
