This page introduces problems that often occur with motors for nursing care and health appliances, its mechanism, and the solutions.

Noise problems that often occur with motors for nursing care and health appliances

The noise generated from motors is conducted to other control circuits, and results in malfunctions.

The noise conducted at medical care sites is emitted as an electromagnetic wave, and affects peripheral equipment.

Murata's PLT10H solves these problems!

How?

In order to clear the standards for medical equipment (Ex. CISPR11),
it is necessary to suppress noise in the low frequency (tens of MHz) band.
Compared with products of other companies,
the noise suppression of the PLT10H series is more effective in low frequency bands,
and solves the above problems!

Reasons why PLT10H is effective at noise suppression

  • If a Y capacitor cannot be used due to structural reasons, the use of an X capacitor only is not sufficient for effective noise suppression of several MHz or higher.
  • It is effective to add a common mode choke coil to the X capacitor.
  • This is a hybrid type that suppresses both common mode noise and differential mode noise (normal mode noise).

Particularly, the combination shown in the following block diagram is the most effective for noise suppression.
