With just 9.98 × 8.70 × 1.74 (max.) mm, Murata developed a multi-band LoRa connectivity module, offering ultra-low power design for long battery life, superior sensitivity, and Industry-Leading Quality and Reliability to build Cost Optimized end devices, suited for various Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
Based upon Semtech’s third generation LoRa Connect™ “LR1121” transceiver, the Type 2GT module also features temperature compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO), crystal oscillators, matching network, RF switch and multiple communication interfaces including SPI and various GPIOs.
Designed for deployment globally with a single ordering part number, the module supports LoRa and LR-FHSS communication over 860 - 930 MHz sub-GHz and 2.4GHz ISM bands as well as 2.1GHz satellite S-Band connectivity.
The 2.4GHz ISM band support streamlines inventory management with a single SKU, ensuring higher throughput and eliminating duty cycle limitations in Europe. Furthermore, with 2.1GHz satellite S-Band, customer will be able to communicate directly with S-Band satellite using this highly integrated Type 2GT module.
Accommodating a wide range of temperatures, the module can operate from −40 to 85°C.
The new Type 2GT module will help designers to develop solutions that meet the most demanding requirements, especially in Internet of Things (IoT) applications such as smart home, Agricultural sensors, building automation, smart cities, Asset tracking, retail store sensors, smart meters, environmental sensors, and many more.
