RF / Microwave Coaxial Connectors with SwitchMurata's Switch Connectors & Dedicated Probes That Support Small and High-Density Mounting and Stable Radio Frequency (RF) Measurement

Murata's Switch Connectors Meet the Needs of Wireless Communication Devices for Downsizing, Stable Measurement, and Implementation Support

  • We want to support small and high-density mounting.
  • We want to measure radio frequency (RF signals) efficiently and stably.
  • We want to smoothly proceed with implementation by utilizing technical support.

Murata's RF / microwave coaxial connectors with switch (hereinafter "switch connectors") are products that enable both small and high-density mounting and stable high-frequency transmission.
It is possible to efficiently measure radio frequency (RF signals) by using dedicated probes.
Moreover, in addition to providing products, we also offer technical support at the time of implementation.
We provide manuals for connector implementation, measurement probe installation manuals, and more on the "my Murata Open in New Window " website for members.

  • *You need to create a "my Murata" account, log into it, and then apply to use the "Connector Site" to view the data.

Features of Murata's Switch Connectors

Connectors That Improve the Degree of Freedom in Design for Small Communication Devices

Wide range of sizes available
We offer an extensive lineup from easy-to-handle 2.5 mm × 2.5 mm size products to ultra-small products that are the smallest in the world at a size of 1.4 mm × 1.2 mm.
Packages with a high degree of freedom in design
  • Reflow mounting supported with the surface mount device (SMD) type
  • Contributes to improving the degree of freedom in set design by enabling the downsizing and double-sided mounting of boards
  • Suitable for automated mounting lines, so also ideal for mass-produced products
Wideband support
We provide switch connectors that support frequencies up to 20 GHz. These support a wide range of applications.
Low voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) and low-insertion loss
The SWJ series has a low VSWR with a maximum of 1.5 and low insertion loss with a maximum of 0.4 dB in the 12 GHz band.
Minimizing reflection and loss of radio frequency signals reduces the adjustment load during circuit design while contributing to highly accurate signal transmission and an increased degree of freedom in design.

High Durability and Reliability Realized by Murata's Technology

Highly Durable Design to Withstand Repeated Measurements

We have adopted a double-supported beam structure. This structure involves fixing one side of the spring in place and bringing the other side into contact with the case to allow flexing in the center.
This reduces wear and fatigue at the contact points even when performing repeated mating with the probes during evaluation and inspection processes.
This allows stable contact conditions to be maintained even with repeated measurement or long-term use.

Double-Supported Beam Structure

Highly Reliable Structure That Easily Maintains Contact Even When Foreign Substances Are Present

We have adopted a double contact structure. This structure ensures contact with the terminal at two points.
Even if foreign substances are present on one of the contact points, it is possible to ensure signal connection with the other contact point. This reduces the risk of poor contact and enables stable signal transmission.

Double Contact Structure

This structure is a connector structure based on design technology cultivated by Murata over many years.
It is a design suitable for evaluation and mass production testing applications that require high durability and high reliability.

Features of Murata's Probes

Lineup to suit different applications
We offer a wide lineup of probes, from manual probes that can be used for small-quantity evaluation, to auto probes that can support mass production.
You can select the optimal probe for radio frequency (RF) measurement and evaluation.
Measurement stability
We achieve optimal mating designs by developing connectors and probes simultaneously.
This reduces measurement errors and ensures reliability.
Long-life design
Supports mating up to 1 million times. This contributes to cutting costs and increasing productivity by reducing the replacement frequency.
Outstanding workability
The wide guide range means that the probe can absorb mounting misalignment. This significantly improves work efficiency.
