This page introduces problems that often occur with brush motors for FA equipment and industrial electrical equipment, its mechanism, and the solutions.

Noise problems that often occur with brush motors for FA equipment and industrial equipment

I am using brush motors for FA equipment and industrial equipment; however, the noise generated from the motors cannot be suppressed. Accordingly, the noise is transferred to the control board, etc. via the power lines, and results in malfunctions.

Brushes and Commutator

Murata's PLT10H solves these problems!

How?

The above problems can be solved using a noise filter on the power lines or control lines!

Reasons why PLT10H is effective at noise suppression

  • Noise suppression with capacitors only (X capacitor and Y capacitor) is not sufficient to realize effective noise suppression at 30 MHz or more.
  • Adding the PLT10H will improve the noise suppression effectiveness by about 20 dB at 30 MHz or more.
  • Particularly, it is effective to use a common mode choke coil between the X capacitor and Y capacitor.
  • This is a hybrid type that suppresses both common mode noise and differential mode noise.

Particularly, the combination shown in the following block diagram is the most effective for noise suppression.
